Jennifer Robinson’s full bio and pictures follow the break.
I have pretty much always been active in sports and fitness. When I was younger I participated in school sports and I used the gym sporadically. As I got older, I got married and had a beautiful daughter. I then began working two jobs and going to school so fitness took a back seat.
I entered the police academy and it was a wonderful opportunity to make my fitness goals a priority again. It was perfect timing that I was able to get paid to train for 2 hours a day!!! After graduation from the training academy, I made great friends that encouraged me to join the police department’s track and field team. Once I joined the team, I got to train with the men’s track team and we have received numerous gold and silver medals throughout the years.
One day I was flipping through an Oxygen Magazine and I saw the photo results from an IFBB Pro Fitness competition. I instantly wanted to look like those girls. I have never been a gymnast but I wanted to train and diet and I wanted that physique!
I photocopied the pictures and kept them in my purse as encouragement and set a plan in motion. I began training but not watching my diet. I then wanted to streamline my training so I considered getting a trainer. I was not pleased with the trainers at the gym I was training at so I decided to become a trainer myself. I got my certification and learned so much that I then got specialized certifications.
I then learned about the figure division of the NPC and I learned that there was an upcoming show in my area. I immediately set my sights on competing. I contacted the promoter of the show, Chris Caudy, who was also a contest prep trainer. I hired him for my contest prep and followed his plan precisely. I learned so much about contest prep nutrition and how it differs from general nutrition plans. I ended up winning the overall at that show and competing in two more shows that season and I have been hooked ever since.
Currently I am prepping for the Southern States July 10, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I will be competing in fitness. I have gained an enormous amount of confidence by competing, training, and dieting. I have learned that I am capable of a lot more than I ever thought possible. I work as a police officer, trainer, and fitness/promotional model. I also have rental property in the city. I enjoy every aspect of my life and wouldn’t change a thing. If you have a goal in mind, make a plan to achieve it and then, Just Do It.
