Fitness is my passion. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Masters in Performance Enhancement & Injury prevention from Penn State University and multiple certifications; I embarked on this healthy lifestyle journey over 18 years ago. I started ballet and jazz class at the age of 4 from a very strict ballet teacher. I learned that practice develops perfection, it defines your disciplinary skills, and it molds you into who you are striving to be! Starting ballet at a young age taught me how to develop my skills, my strengths, and my creative movement patterns that I utilize today. I am always seeking ways to better myself- helps others- and create programs that are interesting to enhances ones quality of life.

My love for fitness grew when I was 13 years old. I was motivated by Jane Fonda and Tamilie Web (the Buns of Steel Girl). I would watch those tapes so many times and do there workouts everyday- I could have said the routine in my sleep! I was given the opportunity to teach aerobic conditioning for my High School Football Team! Everyone in my high school knew me to be very active, strong, outgoing, and happy. I still am a social butterfly! Maybe that is one aspect of fitness I love so much due to it being a very social environment!

Before going to Penn State, I achieved a black belt in martial arts! What an accomplishment. I also am a private pilot and hope to one day continue to develop my skills in recreational flying. I enjoy developing functional sport specific programs for inspiring athletes and teams. After college I worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Collegiate athletics such as the California University of Pennsylvania’s hockey and basketball teams and worked with professional ice hockey teams in the East Coast Hockey League (AA hockey league of the NHL). Currently, I am the Strength Coach of Duquesne University’s Hockey Team for pre-season conditioning.

I am certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), National Academy of Sports medicine- Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES), ACE- Personal Training, AFAA- Group fitness, Polestar Pilates, and I am a continuing education provider for both ACE and AFAA. I am a Master Trainer for Resist-A-Ball, BOSU, Gliding, ISCA Promise Enterprises, and EFI Sports Medicine with the Gravity Training System. I enjoy traveling around the country presenting a variety of workshops for these organizations as well as my own workshops I have created. I also present at World IDEA, Fit in the City, Kettle Bell Conference, and at the WSSC Fitness Conference. Other fitness certifications I have include Powerhouse Pilates mat and reformer, Sanctuary 7 Pilates Training, Peak Pilates MVe, Yogafit, Spinning, Kettlebell Training, Healthy-Moms, and BOSU Integrated Balance Training. I like to do it all- and then some.

Today, my responsibilities for myself and for others are not only to motivate and mentor people, but also to become fit in mind, body and soul. My students range from kids to seniors, inexperienced to pros all taught with the same passion for them to be as whole and alive as they can be! I teach classes at various locations in the south florida areas such as Equinox, David Barton Gym, The Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne, and the Down Town Athletic Club.

Being fit and fitness is MY way of life- it always has been- 365 days a year for 32 years. I have always been very active, determined, and self motivated. I like challenges and am able to push myself beyond the limits! I take pride in my workouts. I am strong minded as well as physically fit from the inside core- out!

Being fit requires one to live it, breathe it, and be it! I am all of this and much more. I strive every day to accomplish my fitness goals and encourage others to accomplish theirs. This is what being fit is all about.
